How: How to attend the PB&J Classic Event

Come aboard on the legendary and longest-serving aircraft carrier in the 20th century - the USS Midway. Event begins at 11:00 A.M with a 30 minute sampling of a peanut butter and jelly inspired dessert, (the first 500 Midway guest).
Who/What: Armed Forces PB&J Classic
In celebration of National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day, we will be holding second annual Armed Forces PB&J Classic event sandwich eating competition. The 3 year old event will be a good old fashioned peanut butter and jelly sandwich eating competition between active duty service members from all six branches of the US armed forces.
This years’ Armed Forces PB&J Classic will be hosted by the USS Midway Museum in celebration of National Peanut Butter and Jelly Day. The sandwich eating contest and more will take place aboard the USS Midway Museum Flight Deck.
When: Aboard the USS Midway Museum
- 11:00am PB&J Inspired Sampling Station Opens with Orange Glen High School Culinary Program
- 12:00pm Sandwich eating competition begins
Students from the Orange Glen High School Culinary of Arts program will create two different dishes using jelly from JellyBear, a local Escondido business.
Armed Forces PB&J Classic opens with the introduction of the military team members, a special thanks to the event sponsors, and a show of support for the Cal-Diego Chapter of the Paralyzed Veterans of America.
Why: Great event for an ever greater cause
The Armed Forced PB&J Classic hopes to raise money in support of the Cal-Diego Chapter of Paralyzed Veterans of America, (PVA). The mission of PVA is to Work to improve the quality of life for veteran of the United States Armed Forces and others who have a spinal cord injury or dysfunction.
